Why choose Dewco?

What we provide that your current contractor doesn't

Are you tired of employing an M&E Contractor who provides sub-standard quotations, specifications and drawings, who constantly overruns on the programme, whose installation standards are questionable and with whom you face continuous end of contract battles over "extras"?

By using Dewco Limited for your projects you avoid all of these problems in one simple, cost-effective solution. Have a look at the Q&A below for further information.

Q&A session with the Managing Director, Robert Walston

We want a system installed but we don’t have a specification. Can you help us?

Absolutely. We specialise in a design and build service and can tailor our solutions to fit any budget. If you have CAD drawings we can prepare the scheme from those, if not, we will carry out a full survey and draw the building ourselves. We are fully conversant with all current regulations so you can be sure that whatever we install will be fully compliant.

We have employed a consultant to design our scheme for us. Will you still install it for us?

Although we provide a full design and build service we are perfectly happy to carry out an installation to a consultant’s specification. We will still run through all of our standard design measures to double check the consultant’s scheme. This way you have a double guarantee of performance.

I like the convenience of a combined mechanical and electrical company. What can you offer as a specialist mechanical company?

Most of the time you will find that, in order to create a combined mechanical and electrical company, either a mechanical company has bought an electrical company or vice versa and therefore the people running the company will only be specialised in half of its operations. We only specialise in mechanical services but we work in close partnership with a number of electrical contractors, in particular we have worked in partnership with one local electrical contractor for nearly 20 years now. This way we can provide the close integration associated with a combined company but with the individual specialisation of each field.

How do we know what we will be getting as part of your package?

We provide a full and detailed quotation and specification at tender stage covering everything we have included and also everything we have excluded. This will allow you to compare our price against other contractors with a detailed breakdown. We always design systems to be fully compliant with all relevant regulations but we acknowledge that clients have different budgets and therefore we can offer a range of solutions to your requirements that, while still complying, may prove to be more cost effective. These options will always be fully detailed within the quotation.

How do you ensure that your installations are completed to a high standard?

We have our own directly employed labour force and we always run projects with our own men. We do use sub-contract labour on larger projects but they always work under the direct supervision of one of our Foremen. Our installation staff are backed up by the Site Supervisor and the Contracts Director, both of whom have over 30 years industry experience, and if you’re not happy with it - we do it again.

What areas of the country do you work in?

We are based in Ringwood, Hampshire on the south coast and basically cover the whole of the south of England. However, we also do a lot of modular building work and this involves site work throughout the country as well as factory work in Newark, Nottinghamshire and in Hull, East Yorkshire where a large number of modular contractors are based. We will always consider each project on its merits and will not decline to tender for a project purely based on its location.

What size projects do you handle?

We handle anything from the smallest projects up to multi-million pound projects. Our largest individual project size to date has been about £2,000,000 but we have recently been awarded a £4,500,000 multi building project for the Ministry Of Defence.

What about guarantees?

We guarantee all of our work for defects for a period of 12 months from the date of practical completion. In some situations, manufacturers may offer a longer guarantee and we pass this on to you as well.
